Fuel Assistance Options

Fuel Assistance programs help eligible households challenged by the high cost of home heating fuel pay a portion of their winter heating bills.

HEAP – formerly known as LIHEAP:

The program aids through a fixed benefit amount for the cost of the primary source of heat, which includes, but is not limited to Oil, Electricity, Natural Gas, Propane, Kerosene, Wood and Coal. No matter what type of heating source you have, HEAP may be able to help you pay your winter heating bills. The program is offered by Making Opportunity Count (MOC) in partnership with Department of Housing and Community Development.

Hearts for Heat

Princeton residents only:  Princeton – Assistance (heartsforheat.org)

Mass Save

  • Mass Save offers energy efficiency services based on household income at low or no cost.
  • They will do an initial no cost energy assessment to assess whether new energy efficient appliances and weather proofing is available.
  • Mass Save also offers rebates for residential appliances, heating systems and more.
  • The Mass Save® HEAT Loan offers interest-free financing opportunities up to $25,000 for energy-efficient home upgrades like heating and water heating equipment, central A/C and heat pumps, insulation and more.
